CAN THE AC ADAPTER POWER SMALL ELECTRICAL ITEMS?
Yes. The AC Adapter Plug is fully functional and operates as a normal working appliance to power small electrical appliances like a smartphone or table lamp etc. We do not recommend plugging large appliances, for example; a TV or fridge etc - or place near an air-conditioning unit or dehumidifier.
HOW DO I LISTEN TO THE SURROUNDING AREA OF MY OFFICE?
Plug the Adapter into a working mains power, and then call the supplied SIM card number. The microphone inside the Adapter will enable you to hear the surrounding audio clearly.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN SOUND IS TRIGGERED?
Yes. The optional Sound Detection feature can be enabled/disabled remotely from a smartphone by sending simple coded messages. When enabled, the Adapter will actively monitor the room ambience for sound above -50 Db and notify you accordingly.
Note: The associated SIM card will require top-up credit to notify a smartphone when sound is detected. No top-up credit is supplied.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO MONITOR MY ROOM WHEN I TRAVEL OVERSEAS?
Yes. Providing your smartphone has a strong GSM signal to make the call. It is also possible to call the Adapter through a VOIP system, for example; Skype.
WILL THE ADAPTER WORK IF DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SOCKET?
No. The Adapter requires a mains power source to operate. The Adapter does not rely on batteries or require recharging, and obtains its power when connected to a working socket.
HOW FAR CAN IN HEAR?
Realistically, the audio microphone is capable of picking up sound approx 20-25 feet away, and the clarity depends on room conditions.
WILL I HEAR BACKGROUND NOISES OR FUZZING INTERFERENCE WHILST LISTENING?
Only if you purchase a cheaper alternative product.
HOW LONG CAN I LISTEN FOR?
Calling the Adapter from a smartphone, landline phone or VOIP, is the same process as calling a friend. Bear in mind, your call to the Adapter is chargeable like the cost of a standard call, unless you have free calling minutes.
CAN I USE THE ADAPTER PLUG OUTSIDE THE UK?
We provide both 2G and 3G models. For use in the UK, you do not require the 3G model. For countries that use the same 3-pin and operates on 240 volts, for example; Saudi Arabia - the 3G model is required. Overseas countries should also check their associated GSM network supports 3G voice calling.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECORD THE AUDIO THAT I HEAR?
Optionally, we offer a Call Recorder product which uses Bluetooth to sync with any smartphone so the room environment that you are listening can be recorded onto the Call Recorder device. Its preliminary function is designed to record both sides of a smartphone call conversation although it works equally as good for the Adapter.
