This digital audio recorder will fly past observant persons as a type of smartwatch band with real-time and date.  A push button controls the start/stop recording in super high PCM Linear audio - considered on par with Dolby Digital.  Recording modes are manual, voice-activation and scheduled, plus the microphone sensitivity can be fine-tuned to operate best within the environment (car, room, and general outdoors).  This casual, no-frills 'watch' provides a hands-free and reliable way to capture conversations with a time and date stamp for evidential purposes.

Watch-Type Audio Recorder; with Manual, Voice Activated and Schedule Recording Modes

By appearance and functionality, this superb digital audio recorder gives the impression of a watch-type band with a time and date display; however, capturing voice recordings can be done under natural movement without drawing attention.  Due to the many different styles, shapes, and sizes of watches available today, this watch is considered unisex by design and is the perfect cover for gathering hands-free body-worn audio recordings.

EXCEPTIONAL AUDIO QUALITY

The watch-type device can record audio in PCM Linear (702 KBPS | 44.1 kHz), which produces sound quality close to Dolby Digital for stunning results.  Five audio-level settings, including XHQ (extra high quality) and HQ (high quality), are better suited for recording in smaller rooms, vehicles, and close-quarter conversations.  No matter the environment, you can always be assured of outstanding results.

HANDS-FREE RECORDING

Depending on the situation, the last thing you want to do is fumble inside a bag or pocket to enable a recording device.  The watch has a hands-free approach to starting and stopping recording without even looking at the watch.

When recording is enabled, the maximum record time is 25 hours on a single charge.  This is more than ample recording time, especially if wearing the watch to capture a one-to-one meeting, an interview, a medical appointment, or even an all-day group event.

MANUAL | VOICE ACTIVATED | SCHEDULED MODES

  • Manual Recording is ideal for capturing audio 'on the fly' at any time, for example, when going into a meeting or when somebody approaches you that you need to record the conversation.  The recording will continue non-stop for 25 hours or until you press the button on the watch.  Audio files will be split into 5-hour lengths.
  • Voice Activated Recording is ideal for capturing audio only when sound is triggered, for example, if somebody enters a room and begins talking.  A recording will automatically start/stop each time a sound is detected for up to 25 hours.
  • Scheduled Recording is ideal for capturing audio at a precise time that you know the event will occur.  For example, a meaningful conversation will take place between 10 am to 11 am.  You can schedule the watch to start recording at 09:55 am and stop recording at 11:05 am, ensuring all the vital evidence is stored.

The watch microphone can pick up sound approx. 25 feet away.  You do not need to wear the watch; you can deploy it at a reasonable distance - and for peace of mind, there are no beeps, LEDs, or other indicators during recording.

TIME AND DATE STAMP

The supplied software for Windows computers is an easy-to-use program that sync's the time and date from a computer to the watch-type device.  Referencing audio files with a time and date provides an accurate timeframe or for memory recap when playing back audio files.

The software can adjust the microphone sensitivity of the watch between Low, Medium, and High, which is beneficial for fine-tuning the microphone not to trigger recording when a car passes a window or a door creaks.  Likewise, you can set the microphone to a heightened setting to detect the slightest sounds within its vicinity.  You can also change the theme of how the time and date digits are displayed on the watch too!

Note: The watch-type device is compatible with Mac computers for recharging and playing audio files.  Mac computers cannot use the supplied Windows software to set the time and date, recording mode or microphone sensitivity.

MP3 FORMAT

The watch-type device stores recorded audio files in MP3, a high-quality format recognised by all media players.

BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR

A battery level indicator automatically displays the remaining time to a full charge when charging the device.  If you have stored the device away for an extended period, press the button, and the current battery level will indicate if a recharge is required.

REMOVEABLE WATCH BODY

The watch's main body (digital audio recorder) must be removed from its rubber strap to expose the USB terminal for connecting to a computer to recharge and access the audio files.  When the main body is fitted back within the rubber strap, it hides the USB terminal and resembles a simple-looking smartwatch band.

MASS STORAGE DEVICE

The watch-type device can be used as a Mass Storage to drop documents, files, images, videos and spreadsheets into its internal memory for safekeeping.  The number of documents and other media content stored in the device's memory will reduce the total number of audio files (9999) that can be stored.

Note: To conserve battery power, the time and date display does not remain illuminated throughout use.

More Information

F.A.Q's

CAN I TELL THE TIME WITH THE WATCH-TYPE RECORDER?

Yes.  You can check the correct time and date and give the illusion of a functional watch by pressing a button at the side.

HOW ARE THE TIME AND DATE SET?

Using the supplied software for Windows computers, the time and date can be synced from the software to the recording device (watch).  The software has other functions, too; for example, you can adjust the microphone sensitivity and the voice-activated level setting.

HOW DO I COMMENCE AUDIO RECORDING?

Only one button controls the on/off recording mechanism.  Press and hold the button to start recording, and press and hold the button again to stop recording.  Audio files are stored in chronological order in the device's memory.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM RECORDING TIME?

A fully charged device can record continuously or in voice activation for 25 hours in XHQ mode and 20 hours in PCM (highest audio quality) mode.  This is more than ample recording time to capture the most extended meeting or interview.  And, if you wish to leave the 'watch' behind on a table or shelf, then 20-25 hours of recording will more than cover most needs.

WHAT IS PCM AUDIO QUALITY?

PCM stands for Pulse Code Modulation and is a digital audio format that is uncompressed and lossless.  This means no audio data is lost during the compression process, resulting in a higher-quality audio file that will generally sound better than Dolby Digital.  This watch-type recorder is your go-to device for crisp, clear recordings!

WHAT AUDIO FORMAT ARE THE FILES CREATED IN?

Recordings are stored in MP3 format and as high as 702 KBPS, which is superior clarity supported by many media players.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MANUAL AND VOICE-ACTIVATED RECORDING?

You can set manual recording mode using the supplied Windows software when capturing audio 'on the fly'.  You can use voice activation mode for capturing audio only when sounds are detected. Voice activation will not record during silences in a car or room.  It will only begin recording when sound is triggered, thus removing the need to trawl through many hours of silent audio to get to the vital parts.

HOW DO I USE SCHEDULED RECORDING?

The supplied software for Windows allows you to select a time for the device to start/stop recording.  This recording mode is ideal if you know a meeting will occur at a specific time.  The watch-type device will commence recording at a selected time and stop and save the recording at the end time.

ARE THERE ANY LEDS OR AUDIBLE BEEPS WHILST RECORDING?

No.  The watch-type recorder can be worn and displayed on your wrist without showing any signs of recording.  You can press the button to display the time and date if required.

HOW WILL I KNOW THE 'WATCH' IS RECORDING?

When you press the side button to display the time and date, there is a flashing dot, and the dot subtly indicates that the recording is in progress.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO STORE DOCUMENTS AND FILES AS A MASS STORAGE DEVICE?

Yes.  The watch-type recorder can also store documents, files and images as Mass Storage (8 GB capacity).  It should be noted that storage taken up by documents will reduce the total amount of available memory to store recorded audio files.

HOW DO I ACCESS AND PLAYBACK THE AUDIO RECORDINGS?

The watch's main body (recorder) must be removed from its rubber strap to connect to a computer. The USB charging port is hidden when the watch is worn.
