Preliminary designed for law enforcement, and now available to the commercial market, this small professional recording device is without doubt one of the most powerful audio recorders ever developed. Compared side by side against any other recording device, this Tiny Black Box Voice Recorder offers superior and outstanding audio quality, fantastic long recording times, and a wide range of excellent functions.
The Black Box is a sealed, lightweight, metal case recorder measuring just 25 x 10 x 40 mm. No batteries are required as the unit has its own fully rechargeable in-built lithium battery, capable of providing standby times up to 120 days, and recording times up to 240 hours from a single charge.
The Tiny Black Box Voice Recorder uses a Micro SD card storage, a direct USB connection, and an external MIC socket for covert applications. This is a technically advanced recorder with just a single ON / OFF recording switch. No expense has been spared manufactiring this superior audio recording unit.
EXTERNAL SNAKE MICROPHONE
The in-built microphone is regarded as one of the best in the world and capable of picking up whispers in some working environments. In addition, to expand the recorders deployment capabilities, an external snake microphone can be used for threading through very small cavities to maximise the recording from a specified direction. The snake microphone is used mainly for professionals undertaking sensitive operations.
WIDGET SOFTWARE
Designed for use with the Windows Operating System, this custom and precise Widget software allows you to pre configure the Tiny Black Box Voice Recorder with a variety of feature rich settings to maximise the recording time, audio quality, and pre scheduled recording dates plus much more.
Due to the absence of moving parts, the Black Box Recorder can operate in a wide temperature range and the intelligent AGC (automatic gain control) carefully filters and balances the audio perfectly. The Black Box is also integrated with an accurate real time clock for periodic setting to commence recording by manual, voice activated or at pre scheduled times and dates in advance.
All audio recordings are stored to a Micro SD card (16 GB supplied) which can also be password protected against unathorised access.

Is the recorder simple to use?
Yes. The device comes supplied with our proprietary custom Widget Tool software which allows you to preset recording preferences. The software does not require any installation to your computer.
Can I open the inside of the recorder?
No. There is no requirement to open the recorder. Opening the recorder will void the warranty.
How small is the recorder?
Measures just 25 x 10 x 40 mm.
What is the case made from?
A tough lightweight aluminium.
How do I make a recording?
There is only one (1) switch to start / stop recording.
How many hours can the device record for?
The Widget Tool / RC Manager software displays the available recording time based upon the selected audio quality. To achieve the longest recording time (240 hours) the device must use the lowest audio quality setting, however, it is advised to set the audio between 16'000 kHz - 44'000 kHz (highest audio quality) which will reduce the overall recording time but produce the best audio quality.
Can I use the voice activated feature?
Yes. Some customers prefer to use this feature to record audio only when conversations are taking place, or schedule the device to start recording at a certain time / date when activity is going to taking place. Voice activation conserves battery power and only records the relevant audio.
Can the tiny box be scheduled to record during specified hours?
Yes. This can be set through the Widget Tool / RC Manager software. You can also set to record only upon voice activation during your specified hours too!
How sensitive is the microphone?
Extremely sensitive. We use the smallest professional microphone in the industry for superior audio. This recorder is capable of clearly picking up whispers. In addition, we also offer the option to purchase an external snake microphone. This microphone is plugged into the MIC socket of the recorder, enabling the actual device to remain out of view whilst the snake microphone is used. Please see main description for further details.
Are there buzzing noises or flashing lights when recording?
No.
Where is the recorded audio stored?
All recorded audio file/s are stored in WAV format to a removable 16 GB SD card.
Can I play back the audio recordings on my Mac computer?
No. The Widget Tool / RC Manager software is compatible with Windows operating systems only.
Can I use this recorder as a body-worn voice recorder?
Yes. This is because the recorder is self contained without removable batteries or moving parts within the electronics. It can also be deployed as a static recorder within the target location for example; your home, office, or vehicle.
