WHAT IS THE MICRO GUARD TRACKER?

This product is a tiny tracking device—smaller than a matchbox—designed for the convenience of being carried with an elderly parent, a vulnerable patient, or a lone worker.  From your secure tracking console, you can set a fence around any geographical map area to alert you when the vehicle enters or leaves that fenced area.  If your car hire is heading towards the docks, you can be notified, and swift action can be taken.

The tracking console displays all journey routes, and you can download the complete history of street turns in an easily readable format, which is ideal for both business and personal users.

HOW SMALL IS THE MICRO GUARD TRACKER?

It's one of the smallest, most intelligent trackers, measuring 47 (H) x 43 (W) x 17 (D) mm, which means it is lightweight and bulk-free.

DOES IT WORK FROM OPENING THE BOX?

Yes.  The tracker will work straight away with zero setup.  Switch the device ON; it will search for GPS satellites and be ready to track.  The Micro Guard Tracker has a multi-hopping network SIM card to maintain the strongest, most reliable network signal no matter where the tracker is.

HOW LONG CAN THE TRACKER'S BATTERY LAST?

The tracker has a 2'400 mAh manganese dioxide battery.  The tracker is designed to send its location twice daily, providing approx. 18 months of updates.  Amazingly, the tracker battery can last approx. 2 years.  A replaceable battery is inexpensive, which means you can maximise the lifespan of the tracker by replacing only the battery and not the entire unit.

HOW DO I CHARGE THE TRACKER?

No charging is required!  The battery is fully charged and provides extensive performance when used as explained.  It is disposable, and a new battery can be fitted.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN THE BATTERY NEEDS REPLACING?

The tracking console will always show the current battery level.  Should the battery level drop to, for example, 20%, you can receive a low battery warning via push notification, SMS, or email.

IS THE TRACKING CONSOLE SECURE?

Yes.  The tracking console supports all iOS, Android, tablets, PCS, laptops, etc. Each tracker has a unique username to access your console; then, add a password to protect against unauthorised access.  Please note that for your privacy, we are not physically able to log in, nor are we obliged to keep a record of usernames.  Do not forget or lose the details to log in.

CAN I RECEIVE MOTION MOVEMENT NOTIFICATIONS?

Motion alerts are not required for general use because the tracker will update its current location twice daily.  However, in the event of loss or theft, you can update the tracking intervals as fast as every 5 seconds.

IS THE TRACKER WATERPROOF?

The tracker becomes waterproof when placed inside the optional IP67 case, which protects against adverse weather conditions.  The waterproof case is optional.  If you wish to use the tracker outdoors, such as on plant machinery, it's a consideration.  However, a case does not need to be purchased if you intend to place the tracker inside your vehicle or carry it for personal safety, tracking small packages, etc.

CAN I DOWNLOAD/PRINT JOURNEY ROUTES?

Yes.  Your tracking console has a calendar to help you navigate and find exact history routes.  Routes can be downloaded in Excel, Word, and PDF formats, showing street-by-street turns, start and stop locations, the duration, and the time and date for evidential purposes.

WHAT ARE SMS CREDITS?

Your console received 30x SMS credits per tracker per month.  Each command you send to the tracker from the console will deduct one SMS credit, but email and push notifications are unlimited.  If you run out of SMS credits, we can occasionally top them up free of charge.  However, if this is likely to become a frequent occurrence, speak to us about payment options for an increase in your SMS allowance.

CAN I TRACK MORE THAN ONE DEVICE?

Yes.  There are no restrictions on how many screens can be logged in at any time, and you can view as many trackers as you like on the tracking console.  There is also an advanced view, which allows you to see an overview of all trackers on the same screen.

CAN I TRACK INDOORS?

GPS tracking devices have limitations.  For example, if the tracker is inside a room with no windows and a solid concrete or lead roof, the chances of obtaining a valid GPS position are very low.  The trackers, however, have very sensitive GPS receivers, which help them obtain satellites very quickly.
